About Us
Last updated June 29, 2007
Shutupyourmouth was founded in October of 2004 where the creative minds of Jason Rollison (rollo) combined with that of Joshua Crockett (crock) to create a unique world where entertainment meets a their own fictionesque vision. Shutupyourmouth is comprised of two major components – movies and the wildly successful podcast; Crock & Murph in the Morning. Encompassing both of these components is the SUYM world – an array of colorful characters that were created to add flavor and spice to the movies and podcast.
The SUYM World:
Please see the upcoming Characters page for more information regarding who makes up the SUYM world.
The Story:
As this is a SUYM World, we decided to allow the characters to control it, with Peanut Butter Paul residing as current President. He's also considered the “hero” of SUYM. Whereas no hero is complete without a villain, Ron Pipe steps into this role. He has dedicated his life to out-doing Peanut Butter Paul, though he'll never admit it. These two characters were the first two prominent beings in the SUYM World.
Early 2005 brought about the birth of our internet morning radio show, Crock & Murph in the Morning. Crock (protayed as himself) and Murphy (a character created in the image of a grizzled, weathered old man with street cred) became the unlikely hosts. From February through March of 2005, three episodes were released as pilots to unexpectedly good hype. What followed was a seven month hiatus where movies were focused on heavily. The morning show was refined and equipment was purchased over time in order to provide a quality broadcast. After releasing several movies during the summer of 2005, Crock & Murph returned in November of 2005 with a whole new look and feel. (Officially known as Season 2)
Crock and Murph released one more “internet-only” version of the morning show before becoming a true podcast in mid-November. The return of Crock & Murph not only brought about their current podcast form of distribution, but new characters were added to help breathe life into the show. Originally the focus of our “homebrewed” commercials, characters such as Corporal Eat, Mr. Aristocrat and Ronald J. Fairshoe became oft-used and eventually integrated into the podcast. The show also added our own newsgirl – Ashley – in early December, who proved to be a very popular cast member.
Season 2 of Crock & Murph in the Morning concluded on Christmas of 2006. What followed was another hiatus where the show was tweaked, mashed-up, bronzed (really) and redesigned. Certain successful parts of the show (Murphy's Celebrity Poop) were kept whereas others (What's Stuck in Your Craw?) were discarded in their entirety. No character was dropped from the lineup, although Ashley has taken an indefinite sabbatical due to an increasing moustache problem.
Crock & Murph officially returned in mid-March of 2007 to start Season 3. With podcast subscription at an all-time high, other (relatively recurring) characters were brought in from time to time to liven up content during segments in actual show. Mainstays from the past were now united with characters such as Charles Chuckk and W. Jason Rollisons (both from our sister-station, WKKW 103 – “The Soundddddd”. Also introduced was Crock's own segment (Crock's Bullshit Minute) that now leads-off the show.
Crock & Murph is currently in production towards the beginning of Season 3 (to give you an idea of where we currently are, podcast-wise).
During the time between the beginning of Season 2 and the current Season 3 of Crock & Murph in the Morning, SUYM produced very few movies. In trying to find some sense of balance between the podcast and movies, Crock & Rollo decided that 2007 would be a good a time as any to begin filming some of the brainstormed ideas we put together over the long Season 2 break.
However, due to the disappointing failure of our camera, filming has been foregone until a new cam can be purchased.
Not to worry though, Crock and Rollo are still strapping young gents with a lust for life and a passion for content. Until a new camera can be purchased, the website will be re-tooled (already from html to php) and new sections will be added.
Our focus has extended into the musical realm recently, with two songs expected to be produced sometime in the future.
As always, SUYM will maintain a healthy stream of updates and an open life of communication with our viewers and fans.
Thank you and may God himself bless every step in the path you walk.
